CHRIS MUSTO

Born 2nd July 1955

As a drummer, I have worked with many artists including: The Subterraneans (journalist Nick Kent), The Flying Padovanis. (with ex Police guitarist Henri Padovani), Kim Wilde, Jody Watley, Joe Strummer (soundtrack for Sid 'n Nancy), Anne Pigalle, Nico, Steve Nieve, Lol Coxhill, Johnny Thunders (for 4 years), Michael Monroe (Hanoi Rocks), Tricky (drums overdub on remix of 'Black Steel'), Rory Mcleod, Glen Matlock (permanent member of The Philistines for 6 years), B.J Cole and current project, Sinnerstar. Working for 13 years as production co-ordinator for Smash Corporation in London for touring, video and recording projects both in Japan and London. Part of the production team for the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, focussing on booking acts and agent negotiations as well as producion on The Palace Of Wonder stage at FRF.

Have created, produced and played on a tribute album for the late Johnny Thunders featuring: Michael Monroe, Patti Palladin, Chrissie Hynde, Arthur Kane, Sylvain Sylvain, David Johansen (NY Dolls), Wayne Kramer (MC5), Andy Sheppard, The Ramones, Los Lobos, Willy Deville, Die Totenhosen, Steve Nieve, Marc Almond, Sigue Sigue Sputnik and Glen Matlock and The Philistines.Produced live double Johnny Thunders cd for Castle Communications.

Produced and performed on double cd 'Sandpaper Blues' for Smash Corporation, totalling 36 tracks including Wayne Kramer, John Mayall, Wilko Johnson, Joe Strummer, Furnaceface, Steve Nieve, The Trojans, B.J. Cole, Maria McKee.

I also work as a designer, concentrating on cd sleeves. I have been a sleeve designer since 1977, when I was an art director at Cream,working on large EMI artists, as well as being the new wave / punk art director.

Clients have included: renaissance theatre company (working with Kenneth Branagh), Tomato, Roxy Music, The Rolling Stones (Steel Wheels tour, singles and album), Garbage, The Levellers, Japanese Football League, Brian Eno, Queen, Johnny Thunders, A&M Records, IRS records, Chrysalis Records, EMI, Virgin Records, Parco Co (Japan), Uniqlo (Japan), Teicheku Records (Japan), MCI / Crimson / Demon Music Group, Rory McLeod, Proper Records, Cadiz Music.
